When Jeremiah Scannell, from Bothell, fell off a ladder, he thought he had a broken arm. He also thought his trip to the Stevens Emergency Department would be just like other trips he’s made to other hospital emergency departments.
“I thought it would take all day,” says Jeremiah. “But it was really fast.”
Jeremiah was one of the first patients to benefit from Rapid Medical Evaluation® (RME) – a new approach at Stevens Hospital to caring for emergency patients faster. Jeremiah says he was taken directly to the hospital’s new RME registration area and to one of three new patient exam rooms.
"My treatment began almost immediately and progressed rapidly as someone explained each step of the care I received," he says.
Thankfully, Jeremiah’s arm was fine and he just needed a few stitches. He says he’ll never forget the care he received at Stevens Emergency Department.
