Birth Center

Birth CenterEach year more than 1,200 babies make their debuts into the world at Stevens Hospital, and we are proud to help your little one get the best, most loving and most comfortable start in life. Our personalized care and friendly staff provide the attention you and your newborn deserve. Listen to a description of our Birth Center services here.

When you are about to give birth, the last thing you need to worry about is traffic and whether you can make it to the hospital in time. You can relax. Fortunately, you have an excellent birthing center right in your neighborhood—Stevens Birth Center. At Stevens, you can expect the comforts of home in our spacious and warm private suites. Each room has a jetted tub and shower, and a stereo/TV/VCR/DVD system. There is room for dad or a birthing partner to rest and stay over as well.

Each mother-to-be receives a copy of our acclaimed Getting to Baby notebook, a personal resource guide filled with information to guide you through pregnancy, delivery and afterwards.

If needed, we can provide 24-hour intensive care for newborns through our level 2 special care nursery. And in the most extreme risk cases, our close affiliations with Children's Hospital, the University of Washington Medical Center and Swedish Medical Center mean you would have immediate access to the region's most advanced intensive care.

The dedicated and expertly trained staff of the Birth Center assists you and your family in whatever way necessary. Stevens is about caring, teaching and supporting mothers and families before, during and following a birth. We provide classes for prenatal, labor, delivery, infant care, lactation, special classes for dad and grandparents, and parent support groups. So when it’s time to go home, you will find that our services do not end at the door.

In fact, Stevens Hospital is your community hospital and is here to care for you and your family throughout all stages of your lives. As your child grows, our pediatric and family services are here to meet your family’s changing health care needs. Stevens has many physicians for your obstetric, newborn and pediatric needs.

We welcome your visit as you consider where to deliver your baby, and we would be proud to show you around the Birth Center. Please come to one of our Tea and Tours. If you have any questions or would like more information, please call 425.640.4070.
