About Stevens
Strategic Plan
In late summer of 2005, Stevens Hospital began a four-month process to develop a strategic plan—a document that outlines Stevens’ priorities for the next three years. The process of identifying and selecting those priorities involved soliciting feedback from a broad array of individuals and groups, each holding a stake in the future of Stevens. During the course of the process, interviews and focus groups were held of the community at large, community leaders, senior hospital leadership, commissioners, physicians and employees.
Additionally, many sources of data were gathered and analyzed, including demographic data about our community; market share data about our competitive position; internal financial, operational and clinical performance trends; and customer service and community perception information.
Four months of meetings involving Stevens Hospital administrators, leaders, and commissioners were held to discuss key issues and build consensus on a strategic response that was relevant and realistic, meaningful and achievable.
The Strategic Plan for 2006 – 2008 recognizes that success is measured in more than just financial terms, and focuses on improvements, not only the hospital’s financial position, but also on careful measurement and gains in clinical quality, customer service, clinical service volume, development of our workforce, partnership with our physicians, and connection with our community.
